Showtimes' Cornish Hens
Ingredients:
- Showtime Seasoning
- Cornish Hens
- Buttermilk
- Red potatoes
- Carrots
- Onions
- Garlic
- Rosemary
- Thyme
- Lemon
- Salt and pepper
- Butter
- Olive oil
- Cooking twine
- Parchment paper
3 Cornish Hens Brined in butter milk, herbs and Showtime Seasoning. 24hrs (minimum 3 hrs.)
- 3-4 cups Buttermilk
- Sprigs of thyme
- 1 tablespoon & 1 teaspoon of Showtime Seasoning
- Lemon 5 slices
- Place in brine breast side down
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
Aromatics- Garlic, onions, rosemary, thyme, carrots & potatoes
- 7 Garlic Gloves (smashed whole)
- 1 medium onion (diced or sliced based on appearance)
- 3-5 rosemary sprigs
- 3 thyme sprigs
- Cut up carrots (2”)
- Red potatoes (add, olive oil, Salt & Pepper)
Fill the Hens cavity with garlic, onions, herbs, and a pinch of Showtime Seasoning.
Use cooking twine and tie legs to close cavity, then tie wings behind its back.
Lay parchment paper in your Dutch oven pot and place hens in. After that throw all your Aromatics all around hens.
Add 2 tablespoons melted butter all over
Cook in oven for 30 mins on 425 degrees then reduce heat to 350 degrees for approximately 45 mins
Check hens' temperature with a meat probe thickest @ 165 degrees make sure juices runs clear!
